Joao Dias, 86, of Pawtucket R.I., passed on to be with the Lord on February 11, 2022. Born in 1935 in Brava, Cape Verde. Joao was the son of the late Julio Feijoo and Juliana Dias. He was raised by Nha Mina Pulutcha and that is how he went on inheriting his infamous name Joao di Nha Mina Pulutcha.
After residing on the Island of Brava, Cape Verde as an entrepreneur and transporter, he migrated to the United States to peruse better opportunities for his family. Joao is discribed as a hard working man who would go above and beyond for his family. Not only was Joao an exceptional father, he was an excellent friend who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was a respectful, caring and extremely loving person. He was a God fearing man that was given the opportunity to bless his church Immaculate Heart of Mary with his beautiful distinctive powerful voice. Joao enjoyed making people laugh and making sure that everyone around him felt loved.
Joao is survived by his wife Maria Joseph Dias of 59 years and their 10 children, Samuel Dias, Maria Alice Fortes, Helena Santos, Maria Fatima Dias, Jose Dias, Rogerio Dias, Henrique Dias, Julieta Dias Ramos, Egidia Dias, Elmerinda Dias, 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be deeply missed by his number of friends and beloved family.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 18th from 4:00 - 7:00p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 11:00a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 291 High Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
